Course programme

This course is designed to attract those interested in a career in law as well as those who may already have experience of working in the legal profession. The three Mandatory Units provide: an introduction to the court structure (civil and criminal); an exploration of the ways in which law is made; and elements of substantive civil and criminal law in the form of negligence and non-fatal offences to the person. A range of Optional Units is available from which you may select to provide flexible opportunities in terms of curriculum planning and delivery. These are aimed to provide you with the skills to apply the law relating to differing legal circumstances, for example: manslaughter, police powers, property offences, contracts, the sale of goods and services, consumer protection, employment and aspects of family law. This choice also allows you to focus upon your career aspirations or work area within the specification structure.
