The Applied Science BTEC Extended Certificate is suitable for those that have an interest in the sciences but do not possess the necessary qualifications for direct entry onto the Level 3 Diploma. This course comprises core and specialist units covering the aspects of knowledge, understanding and skills necessary for progression onto the Applied Science BTEC Diploma Level 3, which is recognised and respected by employers, professional institutions and higher education establishments.

Career Opportunities
This qualification provides a route to employment as a science technician or assistant practitioner working in a wide variety of roles in the science industry or in organisations that use science. These can include roles such as medical physics technician, research laboratory technician, quality control technician, scientific journalist.
Course Progression
Successful students may progress to the Applied Science BTEC Diploma Level 3.
