Appreciation of Schematics

Course Overview
This Course is designed to provide delegates with the knowledge and skills required to work with Schematics in
the workplace. This two-day course deals with both Electrical and Mechanical Schematic reading and
appreciation. If required the course can be adapted to a one day course for either Electrical or Mechanical
Schematic reading.
This Course is essential for both Technical Tradesmen, and Managers/Supervisors of Engineering Departments.

Pre-requisites
· Practising Craft/Technical Engineers
· High visibility clothing and safety footwear are required for this event

Course Aims/Objectives
To train delegates to competently demonstrate their ability to interpret Electrical and Mechanical Schematics, and
the ability to use the Schematics to trace components on the vehicle
By the end of the course the Delegates will be able to:
· Differences between Wiring, Block, and Schematic drawings inc. there application
· The use of symbols
· Reading and Tracing the Schematic Drawings.
· Fault recognition.
· Fault Diagnostic Techniques.
· Using the schematics to fault diagnose electrical faults.

Learning Approach and Assessment
The training will be delivered in a classroom and real-time rail environment, which will be trainer lead. Supported
by PowerPoint presentation and other visual aids. Delegates will be required to undertake theory assessment.

Duration & Location
This programme will be delivered over 1 day event for a maximum of 8 delegates. Course is available as a
reserved course on the customer's site, or at one of the MTR Training Sites. For further details and course

Certification
On successful completion of this event a Certificate of attendance will be issued by MTR training for each delegate.
