About this course

You should have strong communication skills, be enthusiastic and flexible. You will need to be in a supervised role in an appropriate childcare environment for at least 26 hours a week and be able to demonstrate through initial assessment or prior achievement that you are ready, willing and able to study function skills at Level 1 in English, Maths and ICT

What will I study on the course?

You will learn to provide a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment for children of varied ages and stages supporting their progress through a developing understanding the way in which children develop and grow. You will learn to interact with children appropriately to support their emerging social and practical skills and structure opportunities to encourage their interests.

Additional information

The course runs 1 day per week for a minimum of 1 year incorporating mandatory English, Maths and ICT Qualifications matched to each learner's prior achievement and needs as an integral part of your apprenticeship framework.
