About this course

Entry requirements will be a Level 1 NVQ in Hairdressing or GCSE Grade E or above in English and Maths.

The Programme
This course will run on a Tuesday during the first year and then on a Monday for the second year. The course is designed for learners who are 16-18 Government funded 19+ with employers contributions.
This is a Level 2 City & Guilds NVQ Qualification which is a Junior stylist position working to wards the basic skills of Hairdressing.
You will be required to have Employment within a salon working a Minimum of 16 hrs per week to support you in developing your hairdressing and customer care.
The Programme Content
You will study a minimum of nine units leading to the NVQ Level 2 in Hairdressing. Key skills will also be studied alongside hairdressing, strengthening your employability. Assessment is by practical observations (some of which will be carried out in your salon of employment) Assignments, oral questions and written papers.
Progression / Careers
You may progress onto a Level 3 advanced apprenticeship in Hairdressing to obtain a senior stylist position and further career opportunities.
