Course Overview:
Housing professionals directly affect the living conditions of 1 in 4 households and make a difference to the lives of those individuals and communities.
This housing sector employs 15,600 people in Wales in over 4,200 organisations. Housing Associations and RSLs, together with Local Authorities currently employ the largest number of housing staff. The recent economic downturn has meant that organisations and staff have been under pressure to provide a high level of service to a growing number of people with limited resources.

Course programme

Course Delivery:

There will be an induction day prior to the course commencing. The induction day will include enrolment to CIH and Gower College Swansea and the launch of the programme .
The course is continually assessed over a 12 month period. There are no examinations. All learning outcomes for the Level 2 Certificate in Housing are met through the teaching, delivering and assessment of the course. This is internally verified on site and externally verified by CIH and City & Guilds as appropriate.
The Apprenticeship at Level 2 consists of the following qualifications:

1. City & Guilds Level 2 NVQ Certificate in housing (QCF)
2. Chartered Institute of Housing Level 2 Certificate in Housing Practice (QCF)
3. Essential skills Level 1 in Communication, Application of Number and Digital Literacy.

*Students will need to complete the new Essential Skills programme which consists of a controlled task and confirmatory test, both would need to be sat under exam conditions.

Additional Information: The Faculty is represented by housing tutors who have all previously worked in either local authority or housing associations and are fully qualified in their fields. After the successful roll out of the Level 2 Apprenticeship they have now progressed to Level 3. The programmes have been acknowledged as such a success we have now been asked by CIH to deliver Level 4. The team currently work with a wide variety of organisations in both the private, public and charitable sectors. Fully funded (Eligibility criteria applies).
