About this course

You should have two GCSEs at Grade D or above in English and maths or a relevant Level 1 Qualification and be employed in the industry.

Level 2 Diploma in Painting and Decorating and Level 2 NVQ in Painting and Decorating.

Course programme

What will I study on the course?

You will study building methods and construction technology, how to erect and dismantle access and working platforms, surface preparation, application of paint systems by brush and roller, applying papers to walls and ceilings, specialist decorative finishes and how to apply water-borne paint systems using (HVLP) spray equipment. Ideal if you are employed as a painter and decorator and wish to develop your skills and gain a recognised qualification.

Additional information

You will attend college one day per week and spend the remaining time working for your employer. You can start an Apprenticeship at any time of the year.
