About this course

You should have strong communication skills, be organised, creative and flexible. You will need to be employed for at least 26 hours a week in an appropriate position carrying out supervised activities to support teaching and training in a school environment. You will also need to be able to demonstrate through initial assessment or prior achievement that you are ready, willing and able to study functional skills at Level 1 in English, Maths and ICT.

Course programme

What will I study on the course?

You will develop the skills required to provide positive and enabling environments for pupils establishing and maintaining appropriate relationships and modelling appropriate behaviour. You will learn to work as part of an education team providing activities and opportunities which promote children's learning and development in line with school policies and procedures and the National Curriculum.

Additional information

The course runs for 1 day per week over a minimum of 12 months incorporating mandatory framework qualifications such as ICT matched to each learner's prior achievement and needs as an integral part of your apprenticeship framework.
