The Programme
The programme consists of theory and practical related subjects and is taught on a block release basis. Generally there are nine one week blocks in each year. During the apprentice programme technicians will have to complete a technical certificate, key skills and an NVQ at the required level and discipline. At the end of the 3rd year technicians will be able to complete the Automotive Technician Accreditation (ATA) scheme. Assessment will be written, on line and observed practicals.

The Programme Content
This course builds on the fundamentals of vehicle body repair operations. It allows the technicians to develop skills to enable them to prepare vehicles for repair. Simple repair procedures such as dent removal, body filling and welding. It introduces students to the different types of materials and equipment used when repairing or replacing panels on vehicles. Subjects are taught by both theory and practical means. Technicians will be allowed to have hands on experience in the workshop by carrying out practical task on vehicles in the well equipped facility. This course is predominately delivered by practical tuition.
It encourages the student to develop skills that are required when working on a modern vehicle and assist them in starting off a career as a Body repairer technician.
