This MRes programme features three taught modules, followed by a 20,000-word thesis. It offers a unique opportunity to deepen and develop your knowledge of the subject, allowing you to build on your undergraduate studies and/or prepare for doctoral research. Taught modules

This module examines selected topics in current methods and practice in Greek Archaeology, or the application of Scientific and Environmental Methods in Greek Archaeology. The exact choice of topics will be tailored to the group, and is dependent on your prior knowledge and experience. It will provide a background and context for the topics chosen, an understanding of the data set available and an understanding of the methodologies available.

This introductory module aims to familiarise you with the Modern Greek language, both written and spoken. By going through simple contemporary texts, you will initially acquire a basic knowledge of the essential grammatical and syntactical forms as well as an everyday vocabulary. The second part of the module will familiarise you with the Greek language as used in archaeological reports and publications, such as bilingual archaeological catalogues and moving on to short reports and discussions.

The programme is completed with a 20,000-word thesis, supported by expert academic supervision.
