The major aim of such a program is to prepare and develop the necessary scope of tools which would allow for the newcomers to prepare themselves for the successful start of the academic education, by obtaining and developing necessary skills and knowledge of depiction in the professional presentation languages of the generated ideas of Architectural nature, getting aware about the specifics art of building of Northern Europe and European visual and applied arts.
It's planned that the classes of the APREP will take place one day per week and will be held at the premises of the Faculty of Architecture. During the selected day all three disciplines will be carried out in practice incorporating the learners with the possibility to join and shadow the actual study process and participate as observers in the actual execution process of the student’s exercises.
In order to alter quality of the educational process and obtain the necessary level of the participants till the exams date (usually those take place during the first weekend of July and registration is open a month before) schedule of the courses of the spring of a year 2018 might be altered (starting from the April 2018) after first results during the classed will show up (therefore participants might be asked to cover the additional hours). Additionally but not necessary the fundamentals of the CAD courses can be involved in APREP curricula.

Course programme

COMPOSITION

Training course on fundamentals of architectural composition will develop learner range of skills, enabling them to proceed/solve emerging challenges by usual compositional topics of architectural art: create a composition of spaces, filled by necessary and affordable range of built/erected/thought out layouts of structures in the rural or urban environments. Physically courses will be performed by using three fold way of enhancing the necessary skills:
  1. Introduction to the topic/theme, supplemented by visual presentations and additional anlytical materials submitted/
  2. Guided sketching phase, where learners will show their preliminary tries to react to the theme of the given topic by submitting their ideas in an understandable way on paper, introducing their skills of professional language of formulation of ideas and their depiction in a dully understandable way, and
  3. Home works, where learners will accomplish the works in given time span and requested depiction and idea formulation qualities
Practically the learners will reach necessary level of architectural graphics, in order be able to express themselves in dully understandable and creative way; the try is to be given to them to learn some modeling exercises; additionally they might be offered to use some interpretational tools to express their individuality while executing the exercises. By aiming to softer some different cultural differences it s planned to make several visits to remarkable locations and venue places of Vilnius.Composition course will cover 10 following general topics:
  1. Structural systems in architecture and construction; parts of building
  2. Insolation and fundamentals and specifics of the European requirements for the building industries
  3. Interior and functional set us for the differs typing of those
  4. Parts of the urban built up structures and their diversity
  5. Use and retain of existing natural environment
  6. Training I, dedicated for the entrance exam: use of the architectural environments by human
  7. Training II, dedicated for the entrance exam: II: preparation for the unusual topics by exam
  8. Training III, dedicated for the entrance exam
  9. Final Training and evaluation/scoring
DRAWING

The lessons of drawing will aim to cover following topics with general perspective to react with the developed skills of graphical depiction to execute the tasks without actually copying the actual view- just having the written explanation what should be drawn and in what qualities (heights, direction of light, character of objects their number and sizes):
  1. Cube and cuboid- parallelepiped. With the possibility to correct the disorders of perspective; two types of linear perspective;
  2. Composition of parallel 3d bodies of geometrical nature
  3. Composition of un-parallel bodies of the geometrical nature; intersection of objects
  4. Composition with the artificially changed height of the horizontal line. Views from the defined horizon;
  5. Ways and methods of graphical expression in classical draw
  6. Depiction of interior and its basic elements;
  7. Draw on the architectural view and repetition of that from the memory
  8. Draw of the humans and elements of the nature
  9. Training, dedicated for the entrance exam
  10. Final Training and evaluation, scoring.
HISTORY OF ARTS AND ARCHITECTURE

History of Arts must enable the APREP learners to recognize stylistic features of different eras of the development of the visual and applied arts, as well as must give the prompt to the learners to identify the architectural styles from observation of the different types of built structures. The way of providing the knowledge and planting the necessary skills for the recognition of the particular objects of the art and architecture would be to give the theoretical part and test the results by questioning (testing).
