Course programme

Charles Saatchi opened his new gallery space in October 2008 continuing his reign as the ultimate modern-day patron of contemporary art. This course will look back to the collector who arguably started the trend for collecting in Britain, King Charles I.

Looking at a wide-range of collections which include individual and institutional collecting and artists ranging from Raphael and Titian to Tracey Emin and Damien Hirst, this unique course will examine the importance of the collector in determining the market for art and the legacy they leave.

Academis credits can be accredited through your university based on prior approval. For students at postgraduate level wishing to apply, tutors will allocate additional projects and grade on a higher level.

The school reserves a certain number of rooms near the Institute for the duration of the Summer Study. There will be several options depending on student needs.
