Course programme
This course introduces you to key concepts and techniques in drawing, fashion, painting, 3D design, photography, and computer-aided design.
You will develop your English skills through contextual studies and research into artists and designers. You will also develop your maths skills, if needed, through taught classes and practical work.
You can specialise in either an Art and Design or a Fashion pathway, and you will compile a portfolio of work in that particular specialism.
You will need four GCSEs at Grade D or above. A previous Level 1 Diploma or work experience and a portfolio of art work will also be considered.
Your interest in the course will be assessed at a formal interview prior to full enrolment.
Assessment is by coursework, and through the creation of a portfolio.
Having chosen your specialism and compiled a portfolio, you'll be ready to progress to a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma. Extended Diplomas are equivalent to three A Levels, so this will prepare you either for study at university level or your first job in Art and Design or Fashion.
