About this course
Standard entry to this course requires one reference. It is desirable that you can demonstrate 90% attendance. 4 GCSEs at grade 4 (C) including English including an Art/Design related subject is required. GCSE Maths at grade 4 (C) or above is desirable. You will also require a portfolio which demonstrates your suitability for your chosen course.
Consideration will be given to all applicants over the age of 19 who do not hold formal English and maths qualifications.

Course programme
Year 1
The course is predominantly a graphic design course with elements of interactive media covering the following subjects: ideas and concepts; drawing; design method; contextual studies; photography; screen printing; computers in art and design; and web design. The course covers the design process, and you will also be training on a range of latest industry software including Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
Year 2The second year units are: application, exploration and realisation in art and design; design methods in art and design; personal and professional development; digital imaging computer manipulations; mixed media; design for advertising; and information graphics.
