Course programme

This programme gives students the opportunity to work in either a specialist discipline or to combine the two fields of study. Students may select different projects in fashion or textiles as they progress, this enables a personal and individual approach. They are encouraged to explore their potential through a variety of live projects and national competitions. Recent graduates have won awards and prizes in fashion, bridal wear, illustration and textile design. The department has links with industry and the profession, offering students a range of both fashion and textile work placements. Catwalk shows, trade fairs and exhibitions give students the appropriate platform to present their work, these include Alternative Fashion Week, Graduate Fashion Week, New Designers and Premiere Vision in Paris. Delivery is via lectures, seminars, tutorials, demonstrations, theoretical and practical investigation, studio and workshop practice, exhibitions and field trips, and self directed study.
