Students who successfully complete this course and go on to study at level 3 could expect a vast array of creative jobs in the industry such as a designer, photographer, artist etc.
You will be required to attend a portfolio interview with a member of the teaching team. You will need to bring to interview examples of your art and design work which demonstrate that your visual and practical skills have the required potential.

Course programme
The course provides a broad based vocational education from which you can progress to further and higher education in the same or related areas. This is a level 2 course that is equivalent to four GCSE's at grades A to C.
The course involves a one-year study period in art and design subjects. The programme covers a range of areas such as drawing, 3D design, fine art, graphic design, textiles, photography, printmaking and ceramics. These skills will be delivered through a series of assignments that introduce you to a wide range of skills. The historical and design aspects of the course will be complemented by critical studies with visits to galleries and exhibitions to widen and enhance the course and your learning experience.
