Course programme

We will consider the impact of the various styles of the World War artists including Dame Laura Knight (and other women war artists), Paul Nash (also a World War I artist), Leslie Cole and Stephen Bone to name but a few. We will also study some lesser-known artists of the time. Where appropriate we will also look at the war literature, commenting on the experiences of war and relate it directly to the paintings.
