Track 1: blended BFA/Credential program

For prospective BFA students who are interested in teaching in California public schools, the School of Art Education provides an opportunity to complete the BFA and California Credential Program in 5 years. Upon completion of the blended programs, student will have:

Developed an extensive Portfolio of both visual art and lesson plans for diverse audiences.
Completed coursework in preparation to submit California Teaching Performance Assessment Tasks (CALTPAs)
Successfully completed a semester of supervised student teaching in a public school setting

About this course

Academy of Art University Learning Outcomes

Graduates of the Academy of Art University will demonstrate the ability to:
Produce a body of work suitable for seeking professional opportunities in their chosen field of art and design.

Art Teaching Credential - Track 1 Requirements
• Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
• Minimum grade of C in all required 21 units
