Demonstrations, instruction and advice will be a central part of the sessions, which will include the following topics: Observational drawing • Expressive mark-making in dry and wet media • Colour theory and mixing • Composition • Perspective • Watercolour masking • Wet to wet washes • Examples of relevant artists Subjects for study may vary, but will include: • Landscape from reference photos or from life • Still life • Figure studies • Flowers In addition, the course will cover technical aspects of watercolour, such as: • Specialist papers • Brushes • Paints • Paper stretching • Equipment
