Writing for Publication

Article writing is always worth doing - it's an excellent form of PR. But it can be time-consuming and even stressful. This workshop makes copywriting much easier for all authors.

The aims of the session are to: a) explain the importance of understanding the reader; b) show how to communicate succinctly: and c) give people ideas for making their material interesting.

In a half day workshop, we recommend including:

  • Understanding the reader
  • Identifying our key messages
  • Defining the "house style"
  • Structuring articles and briefings
  • Getting started and overcoming the fear of writing
  • Angles and openings
  • Getting the tone right
  • Writing in Plain English

In a full day session we can cover additional topics, chosen from the following:

  • Brainstorming techniques
  • Ghostwriting techniques
  • Headline writing
  • Picture stories
  • Tips for newsletters
  • Principles of persuasive writing
  • Presenting and dressing articles
  • Personal coaching

Alternatively, one-to-one coaching can, of course, be tailored to your specific needs.
