You study three units: Unit 1: Atoms, bonds and groups Unit 2: Chains, energy and resources Unit 3: Practical work The A2 course follows and builds on the units studied at AS. It is broken into 3 units of study: Unit 4: Rings, polymers and analysis Unit 5: Equilibria, energetics and elements Unit 6: Further practical chemisty You will develop skills in processing data as well as wider mathematical and numeracy skills. Park Lane Site. The majority of classes will be taught in modern, well-equipped laboratories. There will be an expectation that all students undertake 4 AS in year 1 and 3 A2 in year 2. Offers will be conditional on achieving 5 GCSEs at grade A*- C including English and Maths, plus 2 additional GCSEs at grade A*- C or 2 equivalent vocational qualifications, if recognised in Performance Tables. You must have GCSE dual award science/ Core and Additional at Grade BB or alternatively a grade B in GCSE Chemistry.
