Who is this course for?
This course is suitable for people who are unable to attend college on a regular basis, and who wish to study from home.
What will I learn?
The course aims to provide a general introduction to psychological theory, research and application; an awareness of the diversity, applications and limitations of psychological knowledge; an opportunity for the practical applications of understanding of methods of psychological research.You will have the opportunity to study areas of psychological enquiry such as: Cognitive Psychology; Developmental Psychology; Social Psychology; Abnormal Psychology; Bio-Psychology.
Assessment
It is required that you pass at AS level in the first year before progressing to the A2 level in the second year of study. AS Level - you will be required to sit three one hour examinations. A2 Level - you will be required to sit two written examinations. There is also a coursework requirement which represents 15% of the total marks and includes one report of a psychological nature.
On Completion Achievement / Progression
There is a wide range of careers available to students with psychology. If studied in combination with other AS/A2 levels, this qualification will enable you to follow a degree e.g. in the social sciences.
