What will I learn?
AS Level (3 modules): The Individual and Society; Culture and Socialisation - The Family, The Mass Media; Sociological Research Skills.A2 Level (3 modules): Power and Control - Education, Crime and Deviance, Health and Illness; Social Inequality and Difference; Applied Sociological Research Skills.Tutor Support - tutorials (non-compulsory) are held at regular intervals. Designated tutors are available to monitor work and give guidance.
Assessment
All modules are assessed by written examination except for sociological research skills and applied sociological research Skills where you can opt to produce coursework. You will have to sit 3 modules in order to gain the AS or 6 modules for the full A level.
On Completion Achievement / Progression
There are a wide range of careers available to Sociology students on completion of higher level study.
