If you achieve a grade … … for A level you can consider..
A* at GCSE Mathematics and Further Mathematics
A/B at GCSE Mathematics
B/C at GCSE Use of Mathematics
All students would benefit from the Use of Mathematics course as it deals with the study of real-world situations. Please note that it is only offered at Long Road at AS level.
Mathematics A level contains concepts which are more abstract. In Module 3 of the course students specialise in either Statistics or Mechanics.
Further Mathematics AS or A level can only be taken by students who are also studying A level Mathematics.
We hold an induction course each July for students who have applied to take Mathematics at A level. This is designed to familiarise them with the course content and provides a further opportunity for them to assess the suitability of the course for their needs and ability.
Please note that we also offer students who have not achieved a Grade C at GCSE Mathematics an opportunity to retake the course. Further information can be found in the GCSE / Level 2 section of our course pages.
