AS/A Level Graphic Design
Graphic Design combines Art and Technology in order to communicate ideas. Graphic Designers can work with a very wide range of materials and processes in order to convey a message from a client to a particular audience but the main tools are image and typography. Good designers are able to convey often complex concepts in a way that is instantly accessible by ordinary people. By means of exercises, research and practical projects you will learn what is involved in the design and production of graphics. You will look back at past designers and designs, look around at present designs and look forward to designing for the future. Along the way you will develop practical skills to enable you to communicate and realise your ideas.
Qualifications
You do not need any specific qualifications but some experience of drawing, sketching, photography and CAD work would be an advantage. Enthusiasm, adaptability and the abillty to meet deadlines are essential.

Study Visits / Fieldwork
Visits are made to local and national exhibitions.
After the Course
Many students go to Hereford College of Arts to specialise in a range of design-related courses. There is a wide range of career opportunities available and you could specialise in anything from corporate identity to illustration.
