More information
History
When Asclepion first opened in March 1999, massage therapies were being practiced mainly in beauty salons and there were very few holistic or complementary therapy treatment centres. It was our intention to introduce the public to the benefits of massage by providing a range of complementary therapies by qualified and experienced therapists.
Lis, the principal tutor was one of the founders of Asclepion and is still responsible for the management of the centre. She has taught different aspects of Complementary Therapies in further education at Diploma and Foundation Degree level. She has also been involved with community programmes working with learners recovering from drug and alcohol addictions. Experienced in a range of massage techniques including: aromatherapy; Balinese massage; hot stone massage; Indian head massage; Sports massage; and Thai massage; Lis is passionate about the benefits of massage and is keen to impart her knowledge and experience of not only massage but some practical advice on the pros and cons of running your own business.
Advantages of studying here
Small groups ensure learners receive the support and attention they require. Individual tuition sessions are arranged if necessary. All practice and assessments are carried out in a working clinic. Our aim is to ensure all learners are fully equipped with the practical skills, theoretical knowledge, and confidence, to carry out their chosen therapy on completion of the course.
