State how to plan assessment. 4. Determine how to involve learners and others in assessment. 5. Explain how assessment decisions are made. 6. State the quality assurance required in the assessment process. 7. Describe how to manage information related too assessment. 8. Describe the legal and good practice requirements in relation to assessment. Suitable for: Anyone who needs to assess vocational qualifications. This course is designed to provide delegates with an understanding of the skills and techniques required to carry out workplace assessment of candidates against national vocational standards. Successful completion of the course and a portfolio of workplace evidence, will lead to the Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment.

Requirements
Delegates will be required to carry out a series of assessments in the workplace, and submit a portfolio of evidence based on this in order to complete the award.
Notes
The above price includes all course materials, registration with awarding body and certification. In addition a minimum of 2 assessment visits will be required and these will be charged at £120 per visit and the final verification fee of £130 will be charged on completion.

Objectives
This course is designed to provide delegates with an understanding of the skills and techniques required to carry out workplace assessment of candidates against national vocational standards, and successful completion of the course and a portfolio of workplace evidence will lead to the award of the Vocational Asessor's Award (A1/A2).
The course will enable to delegate to build the knowledge and skills necessary to:
1. Recognise the structure of Vocational Qualifications (VQs)
2. Understand the role of Assessment Centres.
3. Define what competence is in the workplace.
4. Identify types and sources of evidence including simulation.
5. Ensure access and equal opportunities.
6. Consider the requirments of candidates with special assessment needs.
7. Deal with candidate appeals.
8. Plan, carry out and feedback on an assessment to the candidate.
9. Use alternative methods of collecting, recording and indexing evidence.
10. Judge evidence and make assessment decisions.
11. Explain the role of verification in the Vocational Training System.
12. Work with training and development standards
Requirements
Candidates will be required to carry out a series of three assessments in the workplace, and submit a portfolio of evidence based on this in order to complete the award.
