About this course
After completing the programme, you will be able to develop new assessment, measurement and evaluation tools according to the full research and development cycle of a measurement instrument.
Demonstrate an understanding of current paradigms and related societal debates in the field of assessment, measurement and evaluation.
Demonstrate an understanding of classical measurement approaches as well as more modern test design techniques based on item response theory.
Upon graduating, you will have a solid foundation related to assessment, measurement and evaluation. Both for everyday professional practice like monitoring and accountability, qualification, and evaluation and for broader research purposes.
Educational and pedagogical institutes, school owners (municipalities and counties), and other organizations promoting life-long learning and professional development

This option is mainly targeted towards people already employed in the sector. Courses run across eight semesters.
After autumn 2019, the part-time option will no longer be offered as a separate programme option.
Students who have permanent residence permits in Norway can still apply for reduced progression. Students who choose to study at a reduced pace have to take the courses in the order described below because the courses build on each other.
International students who have been granted study permits in Norway on the condition that they study full time cannot be granted reduced progression.
