The purpose of this short course is to support assessors to enhance their use of the Welsh language with learners in the workplace. Assessors are provided with the opportunity to take part in a language workshop and receive information on the variety of resources available electronically. A purposeful bank of clauses for assessing bilingually in the workplace is introduced. There is an opportunity to discuss the requirements of Estyn in order to plan a comprehensive and valuable assessment programme for the bilingual learner. Training can be located in a college or training establishment, or in another convenient location if joint arrangements are made among a number of establishments. Access to the internet is necessary. Please contact Sgiliaith for locations of upcoming courses. The training is funded in educational establishments by the Welsh Government. The course is aimed at assessors working with bilingual individuals. The course is suitable for both Welsh and non-Welsh speaking staff. Course content: Course resources can be found on Moodle. A member of the Sgiliaith team will contact each group member in order to assess development and progression. If appropriate, we will also be making recommendations about further training needs. Sgiliaith offers a number of courses to support colleges and other providers across Wales as they respond to the increasing demand for Welsh language skills in the post-14 education sector.
