Assistant Accountant Advanced Apprenticeship

Year 1

The level 3 apprenticeship programme will require you to develop your skills, knowledge and behaviours in an accounting environment and achieve a series of standards to prove your competence. This is portfolio-based and an End Point Assessment (EPA) taken when an employer is satisfied of your competency. This is delivered via e-learning and classroom delivery with support from your training provider. Your portfolio will be independently assessed by AAT. You may also be offered additional support to complete functional skills if you haven t achieved a level 2 qualification in both maths and English.

In year two you will continue to develop your knowledge, skills and behaviours in accounts preparation, preparing final accounts for sole traders and partnerships, costs and revenues, professional ethics, indirect tax and spreadsheet software.
You will also spend time preparing for you final End Point Assessment: a three-hour synoptic end-test covering the knowledge and skills detailed in the standard, a portfolio and reflective discussion which will show that you have met the knowledge, skills and behaviours detailed in the standard.
