The Associate Degree of Business is a two-year (full-time or part-time equivalent) course that develops knowledge in a range of topics that are relevant to various careers in the private and public business and tourism sectors. It is a pathway into SCU's business, information technology and tourism degrees.
Graduates of the Associate Degree of Business are guaranteed entry into linked degree programs as follows: Bachelor of Business, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Business in Convention and Event Management, Bachelor of Business in Tourism and Hospitality Management, Bachelor of Information Technology.
Graduates may receive up to 16 units of credit towards their undergraduate degree (depends on course and units studied).
The Associate Degree of Business is offered through SCU College. All SCU College students are offered extra support through College Connect while undertaking this Associate degree.
Career opportunities
Graduates may find work in para-professional roles in a range of settings in the private and public business sectors across a range of industries and in fields such as general business, marketing, management, retail, tourism and other business services.
Graduates who proceed to one of the pathway Bachelor degrees will gain further specialised knowledge and skills and be suited to a range of careers within the industry based on their study discipline and areas of focus.

The course covers a broad range of business topics such as business language and organisational communication through to accounting, marketing principles, statistics, technology for business, ethics and sustainability. Students can also select to focus on an area of their interest for part of the course including accounting, finance, human resource management, international business, information systems, marketing, or digital marketing.

Table of contents Admission requirements Course requirements Schedule of units Course progressions Admission requirements International applicants for admission to candidature to the Associate Degree of Business or the Diploma of Business must have an assessable entry qualification from a country where English is the main language and where the medium of instruction for that qualification was English, or have completed an International English Language Test (or equivalent) with a minimum overall score of 5.5 and a minimum score of 5.0 in each subtest (or equivalent). Course requirements To be eligible for an Associate Degree of Business a candidate shall successfully complete sixteen (16) units (192 credit points) comprising: all three (3) units from Part A; and all six (6) units from Part B; and seven units (7) from Part C A candidate who while enrolled in the Associate Degree of Business has completed the equivalent of eight (8) units (96 credit points) from Part A and Part B or C may elect to be awarded a Diploma of Business following withdrawal from candidature for the Associate Degree of Business.
