Course programme

Year 1

The level 4 Associate Project Manager Apprenticeship programme will require you to develop your skills, knowledge and behaviours in a commercial environment and achieve a series of standards to prove your competence in: Project governance, Project stakeholder management, Project leadership, Consolidated planning, Budgeting and cost control, Business case and benefits management, Project scope, Resource management, Project risk and issue management, Contract management and procurement. This apprenticeship is portfolio-based and assessed in the workplace. The programme is delivered via a blend of e-learning and classroom delivery with support from your assessor. You may also be offered additional support to complete functional skills if you haven’t achieved a level 1 or 2 qualification in both maths and English.

Year 2

In the second year of the apprenticeship you will continue to develop your skills, knowledge and behaviours in project management. You will complete the Level D International Project Management Association (IPMA) qualification, continue to develop your portfolio of evidence and prepare for your independent end point assessment.

Additional information

Assessment for this apprenticeship is largely via a portfolio of evidence gathered at work. You will be regularly visited at work by your trainer/assessor from Leicester College, who will support your development of a portfolio, demonstrating learning and development activities with their application in the workplace and completion of the IPMA Level D Project Management qualification. Towards the end of your course, you will undertake an End Point Assessment process that includes a presentation of a portfolio of evidence and a professional discussion relating to CPD activity.
