ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

Students must have successfully completed the following:

  • AAT Level 3
  • Interview with Course Co-ordinator

WHO IS THE COURSE FOR?
The course is for those wishing to pursue a career in accountancy, and those who already work in this area and want a nationally recognised accounting qualification.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?
The AAT courses cover all aspects of accounting including financial accounting, management accounting and taxation. A detailed prospectus is available for each level and more information is available on the AAT
HOW WILL I LEARN?
Level 4 students will be required to attend college for 2.5 hours per week over 2 years.

Classes will combine conventional lectures with practical task based learning exercises. In addition to scheduled classes students are provided with work books which they are expected to study and work through at home. Students should expect to study at home for a minimum of 5 hours per week Students will also be given guidance on how to use the college intranet, including moodle.

Assessment at all levels is by a combination of central examinations and college based simulations set by the AAT, coupled with work based evidence where it is available.

WHAT CAN THIS COURSE LEAD TO?
On successful completion of level 4 the student will be highly employable in many accounting functions. They will also be entitled to claim exemptions from some stages of the chartered accountant qualifications. On completion of one year's relevant practical experience the student will be eligible for full membership of the Association of Accounting Technicians.
