Course Details

AutoCAD Administration. Note, any version of AutoCAD can be used for dedicated company course requirements.

Overview

It is intended for those who require the knowledge and skills to enable AutoCAD administration tasks to be implemented including the creation of a CAD standard for users to follow with greater productivity. Previous foundation AutoCAD training knowledge is essential for this course.

Pre-Requisite

Previous good knowledge from AutoCAD 2002 / LT2002 and later. The ability to use a Windows file editor eg Notepad etc. is useful but not essential.

Objectives

On successful completion of the course, the attendee will be able to:-

• Create and manage standard templates including for network use.
• Set-up a convention for layers, colours, linetypes, and lineweights.
• Export and Import colour pen - lineweights settings for supplier/client systems
• Set-up Text styles conventions
• Set-up Dimension Style conventions.
• Set-up Point Style conventions.
• Modify and generate new customised toolbars and tool buttons.
• Customise network access file preferences.
• Generate efficient design centre block and hatch retrieval.
• Modify or generate new linetypes including complex styles.
• Export and Import files in various format types including DXF
