Any previous computer knowledge is useful but not essential for this course.

Course Content:
• Introduce Windows and use Windows Explorer for project file manipulation.
• Enter/Exit AutoCAD's Graphical User Interface (GUI) and toolbars.
• Use various command selection methods including context sensitive and icon menus.
• Open multiple drawings, browse, search and extract data information.
• Create new drawings from an existing template.
• Control screen display including zoom and pan controls.
• Draw, edit and modify various geometric shapes (not all commands).
• Draw to exact coordinate points using various construction aids.
• Generate and modify text using annotative scaling.
• Create and insert symbol blocks and using the design centre.
• Cross-hatch and solid fill areas.
• Use the layer, colour, linetype and lineweight conventions.
• Automatic dimensioning to standards.
• Draw to a multi-scale, using model space and layouts (model viewports & paper space).
• Plot scaled drawings including DWF and PDF formats.
