Nationally Recognised Qualification

Award in Education and Training (AET) is a nationally recognised qualification for teaching in post-16 education (i.e. adult education) and has been designed as the essential first step for anyone looking to gain a teaching/training qualification. The AET will provide an introduction to teaching for individuals who would like to or are currently delivering adult education and training within FE colleges, Independent Training Providers or work based learning environments.

About this course

From this course you or your staff will not only be fully qualified and accredited, but will also acquire the essential skills and techniques to; plan a lesson for a group, produce supporting resources to meet individual learning styles and develop the knowledge of how assessment can be used at various stages of the learning cycle.

This award is suitable for entrants who do not have any prior teaching experience or qualification, but it is also relevant for individuals already working in this area who want to gain an official teaching qualification. There are no formal entry requirements for this training course, but candidates must have experience in the subject they wish to teach

Level 3 BTEC Award in Education and Training

This course features the very latest teaching / training techniques and is delivered by experienced and highly skilled tutors. Many of our former students have passed through our corridors and have gone on to set up very successful training businesses in their chosen subject (for example: HR, H&S, Security, Beauty)

On receiving your request our Training advisors will call you to explain everything about the course and discuss convenient dates to start this learning process.

You will need to attend the classroom element of your course over a 3 day period with a separate day set aside for your Micro teach session.

You will be given a six week deadline following completion of the theory days to complete your full assignment; however you will be completing small assignments during your course as part of your micro-teach session.

Marianne is our PTLLS teacher with over 20 years experience as a trainer. She also delivers our ILM courses but enjoys keeping her toes in beauty as well. Marianne has gained her CTLLS qualification and is working towards her Assessors Award, as well as gaining her Foundation Degree in Management Marianne successfully led the team to gaining Investors in People in 2014

Course review:

The Award in Education and Training course is run over 4/5 days, with the first 3 days teaching and the final two day assessments. PTLLS is pre-PGCE, and qualifies the candidate to teach anyone from 14 years of age and older. It is accredited with Edexcel and provides a Level 3 BTEC qualification.

On completion of the one mandatory PTLLS unit, learners will have demonstrated that they are able to:

•Understand the teacher’s role and legislative requirements
•Understand appropriate teaching and learning approaches
•Demonstrate session planning skills
•Deliver and evaluate learning
•Understand the use of assessment methods and reasons for keeping records of Assessment
