This qualification aims to prepare you for a role with in a voluntary organisation. Ideal if you are thinking or have just started a volunteer role. It aims to make you more aware of the role of a volunteer as well as identify and build on your existiong skills to be a successful volunteer.

About this course

Outline the role of a volunteer within a voluntary organisation
Become more aware and list the activities of voluntary organisations
Identify the skills required to be a successful volunteer
You will be able to list the regulatory frameworks that may apply to being a volunteer.

All materials are supplied for the course. You should bring a folder for your handouts and a pen.

There are 4 areas this course covers:
Understand the role of a volunteer within a voluntary organisation
Understand the activities of voluntary organisations
Identify the skills required to be a successful volunteer
Understand the regulatory frameworks that may apply to being a volunteer.

Please note this course will be taught offsite. You will be taught in a group using discussion, presentation, computer search, role-play, quizzes and online videos. You can expect to have up to 10 hours a week homework.
