About this course

You must be aged over 19 and have lived in the EU for the past 3 years and currently be living in England. There is a short initial assessment to complete to ensure the course is the right level for you. If you are aged 19-24 you must already hold a full level 2 qualification.

Year 1

This is an in-depth qualification introducing the learner to many different types of mental health illnesses.

This qualification consists of the following 13 mandatory units:
-Understanding mental health
-Understanding stress
-Understanding anxiety
-Understanding phobias
-Understanding depression
-Understanding post-natal depression
-Understanding bipolar disorder
-Understanding schizophrenia
-Understanding dementia
-Understanding eating disorders
-Understanding attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
-Understanding obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)
-Understanding post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

On average this course takes 12 weeks to complete.

Additional information

You will receive a resource pack containing four textbooks and four workbooks with submission dates for each part. You are assessed on the answers you supply within the workbooks. This is a knowledge-based course and you will receive feedback on your answers and guidance on how to complete any resubmissions you might have. This could be via post or email. There are no observations or exams.
