Course programme
Your two core first-year modules, Reading the Screen and Understanding Media, introduce you to the critical appreciation and theoretical study of screen media. The rest of your modules will be drawn from a range of options, usually including The Craft of Filmmaking, Interpreting American Culture, Principles of Visual Design, Screen Nations, and Game and Entertainment Studies.
Year 2In your second year, modules include Television Production and Analysis, American Animation History, American Alternative Cinema, Analysing Television Drama, Sociology of Popular Culture, and Television, Radio and the Everyday.
Year 3In the third year of your degree, you research and write a dissertation on a topic of your own choice (with specialist supervision) as well as selecting from optional modules such as the screen production project, Disney Studies, work-based learning, Is Television History?, and Global Nightmares: Contemporary Horror Cinema from Around the World.
