Course Content
  • Year 1

    In Year 1 you will study a core set of skills common to all of our computing courses including programming, multimedia and internet development, information systems and databases, computer hardware and computing mathematics. You will learn a particular style of programming so that you can learn similar languages without further formal teaching. This degree course is part of a network of computing degrees which share a common first year allowing you to transfer between them after Year 1 should you wish to.

  • Year 2

    In Year 2 you will specialize with algorithms and data structures, software architectures and operating systems and professional development. You will also choose from a range of options and undertake a large scale supervised project.

  • Year 3

    If you opt for the four year sandwich route your third year will be spent on placement.

    Your final year includes a project (with one to one supervision), Software Architectures and a large range of options that includes artificial intelligence, mobile applications development, data engineering, enterprise computing, information systems management, nature inspired computing and business process modelling and information and network security, human computer interaction, e-learning multimedia.
