Course Content
  • Year 1

In Year 1 you will study both of your combined honours subjects equally. In Sport you will focus on systems physiology, anatomy, sociology, psychology and games concepts. In Sport Development you will be introduced to the theory and practice of coaching and sports development.

  • Year 2

In Year 2 you may choose to continue with equal study or choose a major/minor route. The units you will study depend on the route you have chosen. You will enhance your knowledge, understanding and skills in the more specialised aspects of sports development and in Sport you will focus on biomechanics, exercise physiology, sociology, psychology and individual practical activities.

  • Year 3

In Year 3 you may continue with an equal study or major/minor route or you may choose a named route study, taking all of your final year units in sports development. In Sports Development the key ethos of this year is to make a positive difference to the industry by providing you with the skills of critical analysis, synthesis, problem solving and evaluation. In Sport the Year 3 units are designed to apply the knowledge and understanding that you have gained in the first two years to a variety of sport situations.
