This course is the same as the one which is delivered on-campus at the University of Northampton. Students take the same modules and complete the same assessments. The course provides students with a solid education in the essential areas of business. The course content satisfies a broad spectrum of individual interests and career aspirations and focuses not just on knowledge, but also on the development of essential skills required in business and management. During the first year students are introduced to a range of essential aspects of business, such as marketing, management, enterprise and opportunity, finance and economics. During the second year students complete modules in strategic analysis, operations management, human resource management, brand management, project management and finance. In the final third year, students study strategic management, global business and social responsibility. Students also undertake a module on career development and complete a dissertation. The course is assessed in a number of ways through individual or group presentations, and individual written assignments, reports and examinations. All classes take place at Birkbeck College (Bloomsbury campus) and students have full access to library facilities.

About this course

Applicants normally require between 260 and 280 UCAS tariff points. We welcome international applications and applications from students with non-traditional educational or professional qualifications, including Access to Higher Education qualifications. Applicants whose native language is not English must provide evidence of their English language capability. The level required for study on Bachelor’s degree courses is IELTS 6.0 (minimum category score of 5.5) or equivalent.
