Description

You will learn to apply creative problem-solving to create targeted and innovative communications and solutions to a diversity of briefs. You will gain a better understanding of people and gain insights into how they think, behave and act.

We all have thoughts but not all are ideas. Creative Advertising will help you develop your thoughts into ideas and then into concepts, which can then be turned into campaigns or content. It will enable you to identify issues and problems and equip you to solve them.

· What are the objectives of this course?

The course sets about developing you as individuals, helping you to think in different ways and voice your opinions for effect. Above all you will develop as a creative thinker and problem solver. To aid your development you will learn practical skills and experience both digital and traditional processes and technologies. These range from Adobe Creative Suite to letterpress and silkscreen printing. Photography and film making are integral to most things we do.

· Who is it intended for?

Working in advertising opens many doors. Ad agencies are made up of a bustling team, not just designers and creative, but strategists, writers, human resource and PR - each and every person is a valued member of the team. We have a very high employability rate with students heading straight into work. Many graduates have been selected direct from graduation. These are some of the Agencies that current and former Bucks Graduates have been part of: Saatchi & Saatchi, 180 Amsterdam, Droga 5, TBWA, Havas Work Club, WCRS, BBC, Brothers & Sisters, Jung van Matt (Berlin), The Brooklyn Brothers NYC, Creature London. Only talent, personality and timing will land you a job or a choice placement. However, being a Bucks student you will have extensive engagement with industry which will certainly help to get your foot in the door.

· Requirements

A typical offer will be a UCAS Tariff score of 80. A minimum of two full A-levels (or equivalent) is required. Every application is considered on an individual basis.

Course programme

This module map provides a list of the modules that make up your course.

Each module is worth a specified number of credits (typically either 15 or 30 credits for undergraduate courses). Compulsory (or ‘core’) modules cover key subject knowledge, while ‘option’ modules enable you to develop your own interests. For a full-time course you must take modules worth a total of 120 credits at each level of the course. The number of option modules you can take depends on the number of compulsory modules at each level. You can find more information about how your course is structured via the Academic Advice pages.

Our teaching is informed by research and employer requirements, and modules change periodically to reflect developments in the subject area. In addition, where we have insufficient numbers of students interested in an option module, this may not be offered. If an option module does not run, we will advise you as soon as possible and help you choose an alternative module.
