Student Projects 2016
YEAR 2.
GENDER GAMES.
Students were asked to explore and examine shifting gender boundaries through fashion; to investigate what ‘masculine’ and ‘feminine’ means and to explore how this may be represented in fashion. Producing a collection that celebrates gender and individual identity through use of colour, fabric and garment shapes. Each student styled and recorded one ‘look’ in a photoshoot. Work has now been selected for ‘Diversity 16’, a national student competition.

YEAR 2.
PATTERNCUTTING PROJECT
Garments
Students have been introduced to a series of technical processes and new approaches to pattern cutting and garment construction. They were asked to create strong directional ideas using their own initials as a starting point and to develop concepts for seam placement and silhouette; whilst also incorporation functional details and considering the overall fit of the finished piece. The combination of sheer and opaque cotton fabrics and a monochrome palette has helped define the overall aesthetic.
