About this course

The graduates will have an adequate knowledge of how Tourism Management is practiced globally. They will also be doing case studies that would analyze hospitality management in different parts of the world; the nuances and similarities. At the same time, students will be taught the basics of starting their own business should they opt to start their own. INTRODUCTION TO THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY

This course will introduce to the students all facets of hospitality

INTRODUCTION TO BUSINESS ECONOMICS

This course aims to provide a basic knowledge of organisation, management and measurement in the context of a firm.

MICROECONOMICS

This course introduces students to the basic theoretical principles of microeconomics and shows how individuals decisions and interact in individual markets. Basic economic principles include: individual decision making, analysis of pricing and output, policies of firms under condition of perfect competition, monopoly and oligopoly.

ELEMENT OF STATISTICS

The descriptive and inferential statistical analysis of economic, social and environmental phenomena in situations of risk and uncertainty.

ECONOMIC HISTORY

Understand the historical processes of development and the origin of the divergences and illustrate the change on technology and society as consequence of the industrialization process

ENGLISH LANGUAGE (B1 LEVEL)

This module will enhance your cultural knowledge and develop the skills needed to study at a higher level, as well as your practical language skills in listening and reading (reduced competence course).

2 YEAR MODULE

TRAVEL AND TOURISM
This course aims to familiarize the students to the world of travel and tourism in relation to hospitality Management

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT IN HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT

This course aims to provide the main tools for a critical examination of the financial statements related to the delivery of services and products related to hospitality management.

COMPANY AND BUSINESS MANAGEMENT

This course aims to provide students with the knowledge of the main concepts of business law that applies to hospitality, corporate law and bankruptcy law. Purpose of the course is to train students to the identification of the conditions and effects of the rules to be applied to specific cases, providing awareness about the rules relating to private economic initiative, to its organization and to their relations with third parties.

MACROECONOMICS

This course studies the economy using aggregate measures such as growth, unemployment, inflation, money, interest rates, etc. Macroeconomic problems are analysed by applying macroeconomic models to aggregate supply and demand along with their related components

MARKETING

The aim of this course is making the student familiar with the basics of marketing management such as: “consumer buying behaviour”, market segmentation, market attractiveness, position strategies, competitive situation, market targeting, pricing methods, operational marketing activities, web marketing, brands, communications program, etc.

FINANCIAL MATHEMATICS

The first part of this course provides the basic elements for understanding classic financial mathematics, namely, compound amount formula and related concepts, present value and discount rates, effects of inflation on financial operations, duration indexes.

BASIC FINANCIAL STATEMENTS

This course aims to provide students with the basic concepts of financial and managerial accounting, provide students with technical methodologies to record the effects of business transactions in journals. Let students understand the effects of business transactions on the items of financial statement.

BUSINESS AND MARKETS

This course aims to enhance some basic knowledge acquired in microeconomics modules to reach a better understanding of problems and phenomena that may affect different forms of market.

INTERNATIONAL FINANCIAL MARKETS

This course explains the fundamental principles that govern financial markets and institutions with the aim of developing students' analytical and research skills.

3 YEAR MODULE

ICT BASICS
This course provides the basic knowledge of the theoretical and practical aspects of computer science. In the same vein students’ knowledge will be completed by considering in depth legal and commercial issues.

APPLIED ECONOMICS

This course focus on the concept of industry and analyses the behaviour of firms within a competitive scenario

LAWS THAT APPLIES TO THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY

Developing the ability to understand and interpret the contemporary political and constitutional events

ORGANIZATIONAL STUDIES

This course provides an overview of corporate strategy in a global context and introduces students to the fundamentals of managing organizations

PUBLIC ECONOMICS

At the end of this course, students will understand the basic principles of public finance and the operations of the State and public Governments to acquire economics resources to carry out the common interest.

CORPORATE AND BUSINESS COMMUNICATIONS

Personal and corporate success in business relies upon effective communication. This course will help students acquire skills to distinguish themselves from their peers.

COMPLEX ECONOMICS

Provide specific skills for business problem solving and complex marketing through applications of complexity science to management

SOCIOLOGY OF LABOUR AND ECONOMIC PROCESSES

This course aims to analyse key factors that distinguish successful managers and entrepreneurs
