For certain candidates it is possible to complete an honours degree in two years. Attendance is one evening per week. Wednesday 5.30-8.30pm plus designated tutorials. This course leads to an Award of the University of Huddersfield.

Course content:
Year 1
Modules covered in the Huddersfield B.A are:-
- Personal, Professional Development
- Introduction to Academic Writing & Research Methods
- Current Issues in Education & Training
Year 2
- Improving Teaching & Learning
- People and Teams
- Organisational Project.
Students may study up to 60 credits ( 3 modules) per year
Year 3 (Honours)
- Empirical Study
- Reflective Study
Assessment procedure:
Written assessment by assignments, presentations and vivas.
Entry requirements:
Entrants must hold a Certificate or Diploma in Education awarded by a U.K. university.
Both South Tyneside College and the University may require a candidate to attend an interview.
Entrants do not have to be practising teachers.
Qualifications achieved:
On successful completion of the course the candidates will be eligible for the award of a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Education and Training from the University of Huddersfield.
Progression opportunities:
Candidates may progress on to a Masters programme subject to acceptance by a university.
