In the creative writing component of the course, units include script writing, short stories, persuasive writing, creative non-fiction writing, poetry, corporate writing, youth and children’s writing, and the publishing industry. In the law component there is a practical focus underpinned by strong knowledge and understanding which, when combined with creative and professional writing study, will equip you for a broad range of careers.

Units Download course structures and unit outlines for Bachelor of Fine Arts (Creative and Professional Writing)/Bachelor of Laws (Honours) Students are required to complete 528 credit points, comprised of 192 credit points for the Bachelor of Fine Arts and 336 credit points for the Bachelor of Laws program. You will study fine arts and law units in your first four years and for the remainder of this course you will concentrate on law studies. The Bachelor of Fine Arts component is made up of 192 credit points from the creative and professional writing major. Under the law component students will complete 336 credit points of core units and a mixture of introductory, general and advanced electives. Students may select up to 48 credit points of non-law electives or 48 credit points of a university-wide minor in place of four of the general electives. Successful completion of a minor will be recognised on the Academic Record and/or the Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement. Total law credit points: 336 Total credit points for core units: 240 Total credit points for elective units: 96 Honours level units 96 credit points of Honours units listed below will be used to determine the Honours Levels of the LLB (Hons): LLH201 Legal Research, LLH206 Administrative Law, LLH302 Ethics and the Legal Profession, LLH305 Corporate Law, LLH401 Legal Research Capstone (24 cps) and 2 x 12 cp Advanced Law Electives.
