The University of Sydney is proud to offer the Bachelor of Nursing (Post-registration) to registered nurses in Singapore in partnership with the Singapore Institute of Management. This program has been developed, and is taught and awarded by the University of Sydney, and accredited by the Singapore Nursing Board. It is taught in Singapore at the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM).



For twenty years, the partnership between the University of Sydney and SIM has allowed over 3500 of Singapore’s most talented health professionals to graduate with nursing and health science related degrees. 



The Bachelor of Nursing (Post-registration) Singapore is open to registered nurses who want to extend their clinical practice and progress as a nurse leader in Singapore, or elsewhere in the world. It will equip you with critical thinking skills and an appreciation of how to use the latest research to inform your clinical decisions. 



The Bachelor of Nursing (Post-registration) Singapore is offered part time over one or two years and is taught in the block mode with online support. 



At the beginning of each semester, leading academics from Sydney Nursing School deliver the face-to-face components of the course, including lectures and tutorials, in a two-week teaching block, with some units having additional face-to-face hours mid-semester.

Study plan

Students complete the requirements for award of the Bachelor of Nursing (Post-Registration) degree according to the basis for admission. Off-shore students will complete 48cp of further study to be awarded the degree.

The Bachelor of Nursing (Post-Registration)¿s first semester will focus on nursing knowledge and practice, examining the historical background and current debates in nursing. Students will also study the advanced clinical abilities required for nursing assessment and explore the issues of clinical and patient education. In second semester, students will develop their knowledge of international concepts of health care and clinical governance and professional leadership. Students can undertake study in the area of research in nursing and its importance to nursing practice and undertake a minor thesis or practice project. The assessments of all units of study involve assignments and examinations. There are no clinical requirements for this course.
