The Bachelor of Teaching/Bachelor of Arts (Humanities) is a double degree in Education and the Arts for students who want to teach in government, non-government or independent secondary schools.

Students will develop the professional knowledge, skills and attitudes required of an effective secondary classroom teacher.

Secondary school placements during the course also ensure valuable practical experience for students. Students will study a major and minor (and/or extended minor in Humanities areas) in two Arts disciplines from the list below:

About this course

The course is designed for those intending to become teachers in secondary schools including Catholic, government and independent settings. Graduates may teach in institutes of technical and further education (TAFE), vocational education, community education centres, private colleges and special education settings.

English (4,SA) and Maths A, B or C (4,SA)
Units 3 and 4 – a study score of at least 30 in English (EAL) or 25 in any other English and Units 1 and 2 – two units (any study combination) of General Mathematics or Mathematical Methods or Specialist Mathematics or Units 3 and 4: Mathematics (any).
