This course is designed to give delegates theoretical and practical experience in basic slinging practices and controlling crane operations. In addition, a detailed explanation of the relevant legislation and regulations, specifically the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER). Suitable for: This course is aimed at banksman/ slingers, crane operators, deck crew, roustabouts, drillfloor crews and others involved in crane operations.

Banksman / Slinger: 2 Day
This course is designed to give delegates theoretical and practical experience in basic slinging practices and controlling crane operations. In addition, a detailed explanation of the relevant legislation and regulations, specifically the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER).
CONTENT: Current legislation and regulations; HSE guidance; Safety requirements; Inspection of lifting equipment; Calculating load weights; Safe slinging of loads; Safe use of the relevant equipment and accessories; Controlling the movement of the load; Communication.
This course begins and ends with a written test paper and the successful delegates are issued with an NSL certificate of training.
This course is currently delivered at one of NSL’s training centres, but can be delivered at the client’s premises.
PPE REQUIRED: Coveralls, hard hat and safety boots.
